2016 marks Negev Direct Marketing‘s 25th year in business!
David Rubin founded the company in 1991 in Milwaukee WI. and moved it here to Israel 12 years ago. I’ve “only” been on board since for just short of 12 years.
A huge shout out and thanks to all the businesses and people who’ve supported us and worked with us the last 25 years. We couldn’t have done it without you!
Beersheva has a plan and if it works it could be HUGE.
“According to the roadmap in the agreement, the new units will be available by 2019 and NIS 1.5 billion will be invested in infrastructure and public buildings across the city. Furthermore, the city will receive funding for a refurbishment of its central avenue and the old city as well as the construction of a stadium.”
“Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu also arrived at the ceremony. He said: “My vision is simple Beersheva as a city of half a million people within 12 years. We are making headway, step by step. This is the largest such agreement in this country’s history. It’s a big day for Beersheva, a big day for the Negev, and a big day for the State of Israel.””
Please give to this amazing cause today!
Another product of the Negev region of Israel. This may be one of my favorites!
“In addition to the hotel exclusive and several seasonal brews, the brewery offers four beers that are always available: Amber Ale, Oasis, Passion Fruit Ale and Oak Porter. They range in taste from the light, orangey flavor of the Oasis beer, which recently replaced the Amber Ale as the most popular choice, to the porter’s darker earthiness. The passion fruit beer is the only one its makers know of in Israel that features the easily found local fruit.”

Event: Negev Conference in Sderot 2014
“We have turned the Negev and Beersheva into the cyber capital of the Eastern Hemisphere,” said Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu in his speech to the Sixth Negev Conference in Sderot. “We are in the midst of a revolution that is turning the Negev into a thriving center, not a periphery or branch, into a bustling center of Israel.”
“I tell young men and women, ‘Go to the Negev,’ because the Negev is rising,” said Netanyahu in listing the government’s steps to develop the region. “We have invested more than NIS 10 billion in transportation infrastructures,” adding that jobs are coming to Beersheva as it becomes a global cyber center and the IDF Training Base City is built. Netanyahu also said, “In the wake of Operation Pillar of Defense, quiet – of a kind unknown in a decade – has prevailed here. There will be no trickle of rockets. My policy is clear: any firing of rockets will be met with an immediate and sharp response.”

Both new ventures are centered around the field of internet security, partnerships with the local University and both have links to local Israeli hi-tech firms.
The two companies coming to the desert soon are IBM and Lockheed Martin.

“Netanyahu to inaugurate fiber optic venture September 3” “The inauguration of the ViaEuropa AB-Israel Electric Corp venture will be in Beersheva”
In keeping with the theme of Netanyahu’s quote that “The Negev will become the Israeli Silicon Valley”

This is another big step ahead for the Negev! Beersheva has really changed for the better even in just the 8 or so years I’ve been here. The brand new Science Museum just opened up 2 minutes away from my house. Countless new parks and fountains have sprung up around the city. The new Grand Canyon Beersheva is open for business too! It’ll be very interesting to see how the city reacts and changes once the influx of IDF soldiers and officers actually begins to take place once the new base opens. Stay posted, good things are happening in the Negev!
From Ynet.co.il today:
“The cabinet approved a national plan to develop the Negev with a budget of NIS 500 million ($140 million). The investment will be spread over five years and would be the civilian answer to the procedure of the IDF’s relocation to the Negev.”
“The outline was put together by an inter-ministerial committee headed by Director-General of the Prime Minister’s Office Harel Locker and Director-General of the Ministry for Development of the Negev and Galilee Orna Hozman Bechor.”
